The St. Charles Fighting Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Chatfield Gophers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. St. Charles comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, St. Charles was beaten by Dover-Eyota 69-31. While losing is never fun, St. Charles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Dover-Eyota is ranked 82nd).
Chatfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season. They blew past Wabasha-Kellogg 69-38 at home. 69 seems to be a good number for Chatfield as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
St. Charles' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Chatfield, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
St. Charles skirted past Chatfield 64-62 in their previous meeting back in February. Does St. Charles have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chatfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
