Cary Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-8. They came up short against the Franklin Academy Patriots, falling 21-7. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Patriots when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ella Thomas was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Sitar, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run.
As for Franklin Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.
On Franklin Academy's side, Hannah Pegram made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Pegram was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Franklin Academy got a massive performance out of Paige Shriver, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs Shriver has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Addison Justham, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Cary Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-0 defeat against Wake Christian Academy on the 24th. As for Franklin Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-3 loss against Vance Charter on the 22nd.
