Jessieville had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Cedar Ridge 44-0. Jessieville was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Freshman Carson Hair, who passed for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Senior Cage Glisson was in the mix, too, providing Jessieville with 2 touchdowns. This was the first game for both teams, giving Jessieville a 1-0 record and starting Cedar Ridge off at 0-1.
Jessieville will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Mount Ida at 7:00 PM. Cedar Ridge will look to defend their home turf next week against Harrisburg at 7:00 PM.
