Echols County has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Charlton County Indians at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Echols County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Thursday, Echols County came up short against Citizens Christian Academy and fell 61-53. Echols County has not had much luck with Citizens Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Charlton County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atkinson County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jack Braddock, who scored 21 points. Ja'mari Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists.
Echols County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Charlton County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
Echols County took a serious blow against Charlton County when the teams last played back in January, falling 90-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hamilton, who scored 22 points along with six assists and four steals.
