The Hammonton Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Medford Tech Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Hammonton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of Bridgeton by a score of 72-69. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Hammonton came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 286th).
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Medford Tech over the in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Medford Tech took down the 62-47.
Tre Powell was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 28 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nesta Rice, who scored 16 points along with six assists.
Hammonton's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Medford Tech, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
