Even though the Roxana Shells have not done well against the Greenville Comets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Roxana came out on top against Greenville by a score of 58-48. That's two games straight that Roxana has won by exactly ten points.
It was another big night for Chris Walleck, who scored 23 points along with four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Sean Maberry was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Roxana is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roxana will take on Bunker Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bunker Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 653rd, while Roxana is ranked 271st). As for Greenville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlyle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlyle is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
