The Westside Seminoles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 73-58 win over Central. Given Westside's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Central is ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christian Little was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Whitley, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Westside is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westside won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Spalding at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Spalding will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Jordan has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14.
