Lake Placid took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of McKeel Academy on Thursday. Lake Placid has struggled against McKeel Academy recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Lake Placid lost, one person who can't be blamed is Antranique Felton. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Felton is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taraje Walker, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Lake Placid's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for McKeel Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Lake Placid won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Victory Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Victory Christian Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for McKeel Academy, they will be playing at home against George Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully George Jenkins focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
