The Chestnut Ridge Lions will challenge the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chestnut Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tyrone 7-6.

Cale Harrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Chestnut Ridge is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise. Harrison was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
Harrison wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Nicodemus, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs Nicodemus has posted since back in May of 2024. Blake Conlon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Westmont Hilltop got the win against Brookville on Saturday by a conclusive 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Hilltoppers, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Chestnut Ridge, Westmont Hilltop also got a great game from a two-way player: Justin Ray. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Ray has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Goodman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Connor Sweeney, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Westmont Hilltop always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Chestnut Ridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Westmont Hilltop, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Chestnut Ridge beat Westmont Hilltop 4-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
