Softball Recap: Great Bend Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Great Bend waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Dodge City Demons as they made off with a 16-1 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Great Bend got a massive performance out of Kya Behr, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was Behr's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa McCauley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.

Great Bend always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dodge City only posted an OBP of .357.

Great Bend pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dodge City, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Great Bend will face off against Newton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dodge City, they will take on Maize South at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
