The L.C. Bird Skyhawks struggled with  offensive rebounds on Thursday (the Manchester Lancers had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. L.C. Bird was beaten by Manchester 54-23. While losing is never fun, L.C. Bird can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 36th, while Manchester is ranked second).
  Kylie Kent and  Kaleah Walker certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss.  Kent  scored six points along with ten  rebounds, while  Walker  scored three points.
 Manchester's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Mia Woolfolk, who  dropped  a double-double on 14 points and 13  rebounds. Woolfolk hasn't dropped below eight  rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Rayne Wright, who  scored 12 points along with four  steals.
 L.C. Bird's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Manchester, their victory was  their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 15-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. L.C. Bird will take on Huguenot at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Manchester, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Richmond City School of the Arts at 6:00  p.m.  on January 29th. Richmond City School of the Arts comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
