Thompson's Ty Myron recorded the longest rushing play in 9-Man Region 2 (9 Man) this season in his game against New Rockford-Sheyenne last week. Myron ran for 92 yards on the play and finished with 241 on the day as his team bested the Rockets.
Hatton/Northwood extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Four Winds, 57-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Thunder.
Thompson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Malek Larimer threw for 128 and 2 touchdowns and Calen Schwabe had 102 yards receiving. On the ground Myron contributed 241 yards. Alex Schultz helped Thompson's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
Myron provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Brady Schwab's team bested New Rockford-Sheyenne. Myron's favorite target this week was Schwabe, who caught 4 passes for 102 yards.
Myron was a force in the backfield as the Tommies defeated Jeremy Newton's team.
Myron was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate John Naas added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
On the heels of Larimer and Myron, Thompson has had great success on offense. Larimer is tops in the league in passing with 300 yards, while Myron has rushed for 995 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is North Star/Starkweather's Alex Weston, with 218 yards on 16 catches.
The most important game in 9-Man Region 2 (9 Man) this week will be the match up between the Bearcats and Benson County [Leeds/Maddock]. North Star/Starkweather comes into the matchup ranked 16th in the state, while the Wildcats ranks 24th.
The Tommies' Myron needs only 5 yards against the Indians next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Myron has rushed for 995 yards on 92 carries so far this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Hatton/Northwood takes on Cavalier. Justin Foss' team has allowed 82 points this season, while the Tornadoes have given up 0.
Bryan Haugen's team lost to Cavalier 76-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
