After a string of nine wins, the Ocoee Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by Colonial on the road and fell 56-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ocoee has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Ocoee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Micah Hannah. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with three steals. Hannah is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Paris Triplett, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Ocoee's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Colonial, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home.
Ocoee will take on Edgewater at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Edgewater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Ocoee is ranked 50th). Colonial won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Thomas Aquinas at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th.
