Basketball Recap: Ty Walburn Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dublin Jerome

Olentangy's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over the Dublin Jerome Celtics. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Celtics are ranked 592nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olentangy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty Walburn led the charge by putting up ten points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Walburn a new career-high in steals. Quentin Page was another key player, posting seven points.

Olentangy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Olentangy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Dublin Jerome, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Central Crossing has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Dublin Jerome, they will host Westerville Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
