The Perry Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Kendall Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Perry not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 16-0). They put the hurt on Dundee with a sharp 12-1 win.

Walker Briggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. He has become a key player for Perry: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 6-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Maximus Siewert and Patrick Feroleto did most of the damage at the plate: Siewert got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Feroleto went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Siewert is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Beau Solcum, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Kendall waltzed into their contest on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against the Silverhawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 22nd.
Kendall's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Perry, their record now sits at 9-11.
Perry might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Kendall in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
