The McKenzie Tigers came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 69-63 win over Red Level on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading McKenzie to victory were Jaylen Mcmillian and Jay Jackson. Mcmillian scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Jackson dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Quay Jackson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Red Level still got an impressive performance from Javen Poindexter, who scored 48 points. That was a full 76.2% of Red Level's points, marking the 17th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
McKenzie's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Red Level, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKenzie will square off against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Opp is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Red Level, they will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
