Can't Touch This
Thomas Jefferson got a 47 - 7 win over Blackhawk last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Max Shaw. Shaw ran for 314 yards and also punched in five touchdowns. That performance made Shaw one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between North Allegheny (3rd in the power rankings) and Seneca Valley (5th). North Allegheny received a tough blow as it fell 31 - 14 to Seneca Valley. The game left the power rankings pretty much the same, although North Allegheny did hoist itself up one spot.
Movin on Up
The Wilmington Area offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. Everything went its way against Sharpsville as it secured a 50 - 7 win. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected Wilmington Area as the clear winner. Its success was rewarded with a four-spot boost in the power rankings, the biggest improvement of any team.
Game of Inches
After a comfortable win over Shaler Area in the match before, West Allegheny might have felt a bit of anxiety in its most recent match. West Allegheny won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Woodland Hills 14 - 13. West Allegheny found its leader in an underclassman: Nico Flati earned one touchdown and 88 yards rushing the ball, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. The razor-thin margin made this game the most thrilling one of the week.
