Softball Recap: Science Hill's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Science Hill won the last time they faced Greeneville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hilltoppers walked away with an 8-4 win over the Greene Devils. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hilltoppers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Isabel Meeks made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meeks was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyleigh Metcalf, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Annabelle Eanes was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Science Hill's record now sits at 13-7. As for Greeneville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12-1 record this season.

Science Hill will square off against Morristown-Hamblen East at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Greeneville, they will face off against North Greene at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Greene Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
