Collinwood is 0-7 against East Tech since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Collinwood Railroaders will head out on the road to face off against the East Tech Scarabs at 7:00 p.m. Collinwood is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Collinwood was beaten by Glenville 64-16. Collinwood has not had much luck with Glenville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, East Tech didn't have too much trouble with Garrett Morgan on the road on Friday as they won 61-45. Given East Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Garrett Morgan is ranked 561st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Tech relied on the efforts of Chris Simon, who scored 13 points along with four steals, and Amani Mitchell, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Keyshawn Wilson, who scored ten points.
Collinwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for East Tech, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Collinwood suffered a grim 66-42 defeat to East Tech in their previous meeting back in January. Can Collinwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
