Khloe Kearns was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Knous was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Ola Quigley also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Beardstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Brooke Hickey and Savannah Kretzer did some serious damage despite the final result: Hickey went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Kretzer went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Beardstown's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mendon Unity, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Beardstown continue to outrun the ball?
Beardstown got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Mendon Unity by a conclusive 17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
