The Gretna East Griffins entered their tilt with the Fremont Tigers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Gretna East walked away with a 53-40 victory over Fremont on Tuesday.
When it comes to explaining why Fremont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Matthea Dalton. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jenna Mcclain, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Gretna East's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Fremont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Gretna East will head out on the road to face off against Marian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Marian is ranked 84th, while Gretna East is ranked 61st). Fremont will be home for the holidays to greet Norfolk at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Norfolk has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
