The Columbia Roughnecks have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past South Houston with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 42-25.
Columbia was led to victory by Kaleese Swanks and Hayley Broussard. Swanks scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Broussard scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ayvah Fields, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for South Houston, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Columbia is on the road again on Thursday and play against Brazoswood on December 28, 2023. As for South Houston, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Sam Rayburn at 7:00 p.m.
