South Harrison came into Saturday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 60-53 victory over Tygarts Valley on Saturday. The win was just what South Harrison needed coming off of a 61-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Calhoun came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 49-35 win over Clay County.
Landon Bennett was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Calhoun's points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Buckius, who scored 15 points.
South Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Calhoun, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
