The East Duplin Panthers will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Swansboro Pirates at 4:30 p.m. East Duplin is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.
In what's become a running theme this season, East Duplin gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat James Kenan 56-22 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory East Duplin has posted since November 21, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Duplin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zakoya Farrior, who scored 18 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Farrior has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Cave, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Swansboro came up short against Richlands on Friday and fell 44-32. Swansboro has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
East Duplin's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Swansboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
East Duplin didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Swansboro when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 36-31 win. Does East Duplin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Swansboro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
