Leroy Greene Academy extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 7-2-3. Everything went their way against the Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves as they made off with an 11-4 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Emiliana Salazar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Calderon, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Haley Washington, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Leroy Greene Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.
As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1. They have struggled against Leroy Greene Academy recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
On Western Sierra Collegiate Academy's side, Priya Sahi was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over 7.1 innings while giving up eight earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Sahi was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Arya Allison made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leroy Greene Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Elite at 4:00 p.m. on April 6. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy and Valley Christian, As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. on April 8. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 26.25 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
