After losing to the Parklane Academy Pioneers the last time they met, the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Oak Forest Academy walked away with a 64-53 victory over Parklane Academy on Tuesday.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlyle Carruth, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Carruth's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zoe Alford, who scored 15 points.
Oak Forest Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Parklane Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Oak Forest Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brookhaven Academy at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Parklane Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowling Green at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Bowling Green is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
