You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely James Kenan's strategy against North Lenoir on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that James Kenan blew North Lenoir out of the water with a 41-6 final score. The result was nothing new for James Kenan, who have now won six matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Southwest Onslow got themselves on the board against South Lenoir two weeks ago, but South Lenoir never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Blue Devils 50-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Southwest Onslow, who have now won four matchups by 36 points or more so far this season.
Southwest Onslow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darrold Dorsey led the charge by rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also picking up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown. Dorsey's longest reception was for an incredible 88 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kj Blue, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Their wins bumped James Kenan to 6-2 and Southwest Onslow to 4-4.
James Kenan took their win against Southwest Onslow in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 43-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Kenan since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
