It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Peachtree Ridge Lions had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-17 win over Lambert. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Peachtree Ridge.
Peachtree Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darnell Kelly, who threw for 192 yards and a touchdown. Tyeion Cofield did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Peachtree Ridge has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.7 points per game. As for Lambert, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
Peachtree Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Mill Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mill Creek will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. Lambert does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
