Hernando is 4-0 against the Cobras since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hernando Leopards will face off against the Hudson Cobras at 7:00 p.m.
Hernando pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mulberry 61-57. Hernando has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hernando's defeat came about despite a quality game from Josiah Wright, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wright has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Merizalde, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Hudson's game on Monday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Pasco with a 54-50 victory. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 31% better than the opposition, as Hudson's was.
Terrance Davis had a dynamite game for Hudson, scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tejacion Chapman, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five blocks.
Hernando has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Hudson, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
Hernando strolled past the Cobras when the teams last played back in January by a score of 72-55. Will Hernando repeat their success, or do the Cobras have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
