Trenton and Taylor are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Trenton Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Taylor Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trenton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Even though Trenton has not done well against Carlson recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Trenton slipped by Carlson 65-64. Given Trenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Carlson is ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Taylor, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-43 loss to Roosevelt on Thursday. Taylor has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trenton pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Taylor, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Trenton came up short against Taylor in their previous meeting back in February, falling 75-66. Can Trenton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
