United Faith Christian Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The United Faith Christian Academy Falcons and Oak City Prep will face off at 10:00 a.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. United Faith Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Oak City Prep is ranked 67th).
United Faith Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-32 walloping at the hands of Concord Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points United Faith Christian Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Oak City Prep had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Sunday. They walked away with a 55-45 win over Carlisle.
Oak City Prep can attribute much of their success to Sanai Cole, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Cole is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sami Ward, who scored 12 points.
United Faith Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Oak City Prep, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
United Faith Christian Academy and Oak City Prep were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but United Faith Christian Academy came up empty-handed after a 51-50 defeat. Can United Faith Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
