A well-balanced attack led the Clifton Central Comets over the Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Clifton Central was the clear victor by a 70-47 margin over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clifton Central.
Clifton Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Chandler out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Aidan Podowicz was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine steals.
Clifton Central's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18.
Clifton Central will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wilmington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
