Ronin Robles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Chase Cherne was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Somerset Academy duked it out with Chaminade-Madonna on Tuesday. Somerset Academy fell just short of Chaminade-Madonna by a score of 4-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Julio Cardoso was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Jon Mora made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
Gulliver Prep's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Somerset Academy, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Gulliver Prep hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Somerset Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs.
