Alvarado had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Venus Bulldogs a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Alvarado's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Venus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Alvarado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Venus, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while.
