Lafayette (Williamsburg, Va.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
Poquoson (Va.), 43-19, on Saturday.
The Rams were up 28-13 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Schekel Wallace in the first quarter.
Lafayette expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Jahlil Green to
Darren Patton.
With the win the Williamsburg school extended its winning streak to six games. The Rams defeated the Falcons 25-20 last week.
Lafayette's standout player in the win was
Brendan McGinty. He ran for three touchdowns.
The Islanders came in giving up 17.2 points per game this season.
LHS got revenge for last year's 27-10 loss to Poquoson with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Poquoson, which notched a 33-12 victory over Bruton in its previous outing. The loss snapped PHS's 2-game winning streak.
