There's no place like home for the Medford Tech Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 77-66 victory over Burlington City on Friday. Given Medford Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Burlington City is ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Nesta Rice, who scored 25 points along with five steals. Rice is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tre Powell, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Medford Tech pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Burlington City, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Medford Tech will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pemberton at 6:30 p.m. As for Burlington City, they will head out on the road to face off against Burlington Township at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
