Pueblo Central is 0-10 against Pueblo West since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pueblo Central Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Pueblo West Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. Pueblo Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Even though Pueblo Central has not done well against Pueblo South recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Pueblo Central walked away with a 40-33 win over Pueblo South.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pueblo Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leyal Padilla, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Emeri Whiting, who scored nine points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Pueblo West gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They blew past Pueblo County 60-40. Winning may never get old, but Pueblo West sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Pueblo Central's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Pueblo West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Pueblo Central was taken down by Pueblo West 80-4 in their previous matchup on January 15th. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Pueblo Central was down 36-2.
