The Fairfield Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 67-58 to York Country Day. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
York Country Day found their leader in underclassman Isaiah White, who scored 32 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was White's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Elias, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Fairfield's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for York Country Day, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Christian School of York at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Christian School of York is ranked 729th, while Fairfield is ranked 720th). As for York Country Day, they will be playing at home against Newport at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Newport is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
