North Decatur hasn't had much luck against Hauser recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chargers will be playing at home against the Jets at 5:30 p.m. North Decatur will be strutting in after a victory while Hauser will be coming in after a loss.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, North Decatur turned things around against Edinburgh on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Lancers. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Brooklyn White made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. White was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Rohls, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs. Another player making a difference was Libby Crawford, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
North Decatur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburgh only posted an OBP of .312.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hauser's offense. They came up short against Connersville on Wednesday, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Jets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Hauser saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabelle Brunner, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Brunner has hit this season.
Hauser's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for North Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
