The Cypress Bay Lightning will head out on the road to  square off against  the South Plantation Paladins at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
 On Friday, Cypress Bay made easy work of Pompano Beach  and carried off  a  10-2 win. The  victory was just what Cypress Bay needed coming off of  a  13-2 loss in their prior  game.
  Ayden Ballard spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on five hits.
 At the plate, Cypress Bay let  Ana Rincon and  Teresa Foschia loose on the outfield. Rincon  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Foschia  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Allena Dinneen, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, South Plantation stacked  a  fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by  a  12-2 margin over Chaminade-Madonna.
  Victoria Vazquez and  Grace Boehly did most of the damage at the plate:  Vazquez  went 1-for-2 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple, while  Boehly  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Kylee Reaves, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Cypress Bay's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for South Plantation, their victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-2.
 Cypress Bay skirted past South Plantation  9-8 when the teams last played  back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cypress Bay since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
