While losing is never fun, St. Johns Classical Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 729th, while St. Johns Country Day is ranked 349th).
St. Johns Country Day found their leader in underclassman Camden Cooper, who scored 25 points. The match was Cooper's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Williams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.
St. Johns Classical Academy's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.5 points per game. As for St. Johns Country Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
St. Johns Classical Academy will be playing at home against Christ's Church Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for St. Johns Country Day, they will head out on the road to face off against West Nassau at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
