Baseball Recap: Konawa Has No Trouble Against Stratford

Konawa made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Stratford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-2 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grady Moore and Bennett Henson were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Moore tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Henson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Moore scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Henson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Moore posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Jamarcus Brooks was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Tyler Whitley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Konawa's record is now 12-3. As for Stratford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Konawa is facing Wewoka at the right time seeing as Wewoka is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Stratford, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Coalgate at 5:00 p.m.
