The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Lumberton takes on Stringer in the first playoff game of the year. Lumberton is currently on a nine-game winning streak and looking to extend its dominance.
Lumberton dominated last week, steamrollering French Camp Academy 48 - 0. Senior running back Dre Coleman deserves a lot of the credit as he ran for 147 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. Coleman has been a consistent playmaker for Lumberton as this was the 12th good game in a row from him.
As for Stringer, it blew past Sebastopol last week 44 - 22. With four TDs, sophomore running back Anthony Thomas was a significant factor in the success.
Their wins bumped Lumberton to 10-2 and Stringer to 8-5. Both Lumberton and Stringer are bound to feel confident after their prior matchups, but one team's ego will take a hit. We'll find out on Friday which one when the teams meet up this week.
