The Heritage Patriots will take on the McQueen Lancers in a tournament on Friday. Heritage will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
While Heritage's win against Arroyo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Heritage came out on top in a nail-biter against Arroyo two weeks ago, sneaking past 7-6. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hailey Schultz

05/06/24 vs Deer Valley | 1 |
04/20/24 vs Antioch | 3 |
The team relied heavily on Hailey Schultz, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Vivien Spomer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
Schultz wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for McQueen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on Franklin with a sharp 8-2 victory on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Lancers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Violet Moyao spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Montana Huitt was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Bein, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
McQueen pushed their record up to 3-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Heritage came out on top in a nail-biter against McQueen in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 6-4. Will Heritage repeat their success, or does McQueen has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
