The Tiftarea Academy Panthers pushed their score all the way to 48 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Brookwood by a score of 50-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tiftarea Academy in their matchups with Brookwood: they've now lost four in a row.
Brookwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was TJ Thomas out in front who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also picked up 133 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Rodge Waldrop, who threw for 361 yards and four touchdowns.
Tiftarea Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Brookwood, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Tiftarea Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brookwood is also done with their season.
