The Castlewood Warriors were the 52-48 winner over the Arlington Cardinals when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Castlewood took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arlington on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Castlewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Arlington is ranked 12th).
When it comes to explaining why Castlewood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ella Hunter. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Castlewood and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Arlington, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Castlewood is on the road again on Saturday and play against Madison at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday. Arlington will take on Flandreau in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at.
