The Pearland Oilers are on the road again on Friday and play against the Alief Taylor Lions at 7:00 p.m. on October 20th. Hopefully Pearland is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than Alief Taylor in Texas (Pearland is ranked 83rd, while Alief Taylor is ranked 483rd).
After soaring to 73 points the game before, Pearland were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. The contest between Pearland and Dawson wasn't particularly close, with Pearland falling 21-7.
The losing side was boosted by Ladamion Mcdowell, who rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Alief Taylor came up short against Strake Jesuit on Friday and fell 24-15. Alief Taylor was down 24-3 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Alief Taylor got a solid performance out of Jaxson Adeoye, who rushed for 124 yards.
The losses dropped Pearland to 5-2 and Alief Taylor to 3-4.
Pearland beat Alief Taylor 27-16 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pearland since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
