Excel is 0-10 against T.R. Miller since February of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Panthers will challenge the Tigers at 6:30 p.m.
Excel blew W.S. Neal out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday W.S. Neal got their revenge. The Panthers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since March 13, 2025.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when T.R. Miller duked it out with St. Michael Catholic on Saturday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Cardinals. Considering the Tigers have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Araeyah Harigel and Carlee Hamic dominated on the mound. Harigel tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits, while Hamic tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Harigel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aly Sheffield and Ellie Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Sheffield went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Miller went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Sheffield has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Madi Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
T.R. Miller hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-3 when they post two or more strikeouts.
The victory made it two in a row for T.R. Miller and bumps their season record up to 8-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Excel, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Excel might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from T.R. Miller in their previous matchup last Friday. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
