After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Thomson, the Putnam County War Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They blew past Glenn Hills 78-56. Given Putnam County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Glenn Hills is ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Landon Bonner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with five assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Putnam County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jmari Greene, who scored 15 points.
Putnam County's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Glenn Hills, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-20.
Putnam County will be playing at home against Josey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Josey is coming into the contest with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Putnam County will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
