Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Troup County Tigers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 20-0 walloping at the hands of Spalding on Friday. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Spalding can attribute much of their success to Robert Henderson, who picked up 168 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Curt Clark also helped out by tossing the rock for 258 yards.
Troup County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Spalding, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Troup County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Spalding will face off against Stockbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stockbridge is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
